xp sp2 cryptographic service error

Post subject: xp sp2 cryptographic service error
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support (more info?)

I am trying to install sp2 off disc but keep getting a message stating (setup
could not verify the integrity of the file update.inf. Make sure the
cryptographic service is running on this computer. I would be very greatfull
if anyone can help me solve this, many thanks.
I have made sure that cryptographic
service is running ran the sp2 install again and still i get the same
message, is this not normal or what, please please someone must know what the
hell is going on, many thanks to they who have the answer.
