vista home basic printer installs

I have had nothing but problems getting printers to work on my system. I have
just bought my 4th printer this one hp says will work for sure,but i must use
the cd before connecting the usb connector.The set up starts then I get
message can not install needs administration privileges to continue.This is
my home computer and i'm the only one that uses it.I have tried everything to
find out about administrator rights,but nothing seems to affect it and i
don't know how to get the hp 7260 installed.they say i cannot hook up the usb
and install with add printer in the control panel any sugestions on setting
ad...rights or what else to try.
