Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Security Update for Windows 2000,
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server
2008 R2 (KB953297)

Have tried 4 times, this never happened before, I cleared all the history,
temp files etc.

Do you have .NET framework 1.1 SP1 installed? That is required for this
update.
Have you tried manually downloading the update to your hard drive and
installing from there? Download from

If there is an answer to this, I'd also be interested. I got the same
response on my .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack Update for Windows XP Pro
SP2..although I already have .NET Framework 2 and 3 with updates to those
already in the machine.
