All of my links on my desktop or program list have my icons stripped and
replaced with the standard non-descript placekeeper. When I click on any of
them, including Word or Excel I get the message that Windows cannot open
this file - search on the internet or pick from list.
What the heck happened?

Sorry, I thought I did. I guess it didn't take. All I did was check my email.

Jonah

Right click on any Desktop icon ( preferably something most users have )
and select Properties, General tab. Tell what the icon is for and the
entries in the boxes on the General tab of the Properties window.

Hope this helps.

Get some file extension fixes from Doug's site:
http://www.dougknox.com/

You need, at least, the LNK one.
