Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>mail (more info?)

When on the internet I press the " mail to" sign, my mail program incredi
mail should start up... instead I get the enoying windows mail.

I tried to stop it, and want to change the " mail to" protocol but vista
don't seem to let me

can anyone help me out? I am even willing to erase windows mail if that
would help and if I could find how to... Smile

Since you didn't tell us precisely what you did to "Stop it" forgive me if
I'm suggesting something you tried. Assuming your browser is Internet
Explorer as opposed to a 3rd party browser you installed, open Control
Panel, open Internet Options, go to the Programs tab, click Set Programs,
click, Set Your Default Programs, in the list, scroll to Incredimail, select
it and click, Set this program as default.

So far, till set programs it works, but somehow incredimail is not in the
list and can't be selected by " browse" button or something

Years ago, we had this issue when Outlook 97 had been uninstalled. We then
couldn't specify another mail program and the work around was to reinstall
Outlook 97 and/or IE.

Well, you can't reinstall the browser and I'm pretty sure you didn't have
Outlook 97 on your system! I think you should take this question to the
Incredimail Forums as they might have dealt with this issue before:
