messenger service HELP!

a dialog box titled "Messenger Service" in the title bar
keeps popping up while I'm online, and they're all ads
telling me to visit websites... and i can only click "OK"
to close the dialog box. it's a one-way thing since I
can't respond. How do I get rid of these things???

Go to the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Scroll down to
Messenger and double click it, and where it says "Startup type: Automatic"
change Automatic to Disabled.
