Has anyone solved the missing icons in the notification area, system restore
works until the next start up.

Hello fhead,

I'm not sure what you mean. Could you give us more details on what
icons are missing, and what you mean by missing.

If you mean that they are grayed out and cannot be selected to add
back, then this may help.
