Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support, others (more info?)

I find log files in my \windows\temp folder which I find worrysome to
see them located there.
The files are
ASPNETSetup_00000.log <cid:part1.02050503.05080502@free.fr>
java_install_reg.log <cid:part2.06020408.04020306@free.fr>
jusched.log <cid:part3.06050400.09020704@free.fr>
WGAErrLog.txt <cid:part4.08070903.01040405@free.fr>

The last log file is active and dates from the start of this sessions.

Also, I find numerous log files in Documents and Settings\{name}\Local
Settings\Temp <cid:part5.00090908.01040404@free.fr>

Question: What happens if I empty the temp folders with a cleaner ?

All those log files are harmless. Stay away from "cleaner" software.

Frank;
What cleaner?
Generally they are best avoided since they are on par with snake oil
for their curing abilities.
Also used without full understanding so called cleaners can and
sometimes do lead to other issues.

You can safely delete the contents of any "Temp" folders.
Reboot first to be sure no programs are using the temp files.
You may find some have been deleted during the reboot.
