Have you tried searching the documents & settings folder, just be sure you
select to search in hidden and system files/folders.

This is a MS Outlook (from Office Suite) question and you need to access the Microsoft
News Groups directly and STOP using the POS forums.techarena.in front end to MS News
Groups.

Those folders are temp outlook folders, the contents of which are deleted
overtime.
They should not be used for saving attachments, open your attachment and use
Save As to specify a name/location in eg your Documents folder (or where you
normally store data)

How do you know (what do you mean) "the files in this folder will not
be deleted"

Temporary OLK files are not deleted "over time".

They are temporary. They are created for a purpose. Contents are
removed when things work properly. Contents may not be removed when
things do not work properly which could leave sensitive information
being left behind. Some people like to delete the contents of the
files manually to be sure sensitive information is not left laying
around where people that know how things work might look for
information.

Maybe this will help:

Saving a file is not the problem. What i need is to know how to locate
the folder and delete the temporarily stored files manually.
I have tried deleting temp files manually but the files in this folder
would not be deleted. I just need to locate it and delete the files in
there myself.
Can anyone tell how to get there pls.

When you have the attachment open and you select "save as" then folder name
at the top of the dialog box will have a pull down button to the right of
the folder. If you select that pull down list it should show the folder
structure, then you can find it in windows explorer. Just remember to show
hidden and system files in windows explorer before you go looking.

Thanks Jose the link worked.
I followed it as instructed and deleted the folder from the
registry, restarted and discovered a new folder "OLKA" was created. I did
a search for the file that used to be in the folder and it came back 'no
result to display'. It was gone.
