There should be more to the error message than just that.

When you get that error, there should be a down-arrow that allows you to
expand the error message. Right-click on that expanded error message,
copy, then paste it into a reply here.

Do you normally use Windows Mail for sending email? If not, which email
service do you normally use?

Strictly speaking, Microsoft.com is not an email service provider,
although Microsoft does own the Hotmail, MSN.com, and Live.com email
subsidiaries.
What is the part of your email address after the @ symbol?

what could non-networking issues be? Should I optimize? I've already
defragmented my disk. My laptop is a HP Pavillion dv7-270us entertainment
notebook pc. I've only had it a few months.

People often reply to existing threads and think they do not need to explain
very much since it is an existing thread with a description of a problem.
Unfortunately since this thread is so old most of us don't know what the
problem is that you are claiming to be yours also and there is a good chance
that your problem is very different.

So the best way to get help is to create a new thread and describe your
situation more clearly and thoroughly.
