internet connection problems after XP sp3 install

I recently downloaded and installed Sp3 and immediately found that I could
not connect to the internet. First I tried to uninstall Sp3 and get an error
message. Nothing on the main error message window indicating what the failure
is and I've lost the info that I copied down from the detail screen. Then I
tried to do a system restore and found that I don't have any restore points.
I need to find a way to 1. Uninstall service pack 3 and 2. Restore the
computer settings to what they were before Sp3. This computer is on a boat
and connects to the internet via satellite.

Try going to Control Panel>Network Connections. You might find some
information there.
