I see KB223188, but am unsure if it will work to changethe drive
letter of F: to C:. (Problem occurred when installing, system
incorrectly identified USB Flash Card reader slots as hard drives).

It's unfortunate, but the only reliable solution to your
problem is to disconnect the card reader and reinstall XP. The
only items that should be connected to your computer during the
installation are a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

Your going to have to format and install again, unplug any internal or
external card readers and external USB drives before starting.
And your USB flash drives were identified properly, yours is a common issue
when reinstalling with such a device connected.

ONLY IF you really care. It'll work ok w/ it set to F:, mine's been that
way for years, it only occasionally causes the more stupid installers some
grief (like QuickTime - come on Apple...).

But I concur w/ the rest, the best/safest way to install windows is w/
JUST one HD and one optical installed, add the other HW after it's up and
running.
