There are a few people who get their email to me kicked back to them as
undeliverable. It is just some folks & there does not seem to be any
pattern. I double checked my incoming/outgoing servers; I have tried both a
checked & unchecked 'need a secure server' box.

Any ideas? Oh, I would have beeter spelling, but Vista doesn't want to
consitently help me with that either. . . !

It is impossible for the intended receiving mail client to be somehow
responsible for occasional bounces experience by other senders.
It is possible that the sender's mail server is on a spamming blacklist.

If you need more help with this, we would need to see the exact bounce notice.

I receive many emails, and they are distributed according to catagories, i.e.
'Deleted', 'Services', 'Contacts', etc. but when receiving them, they flash
into the 'Inbox' for a fraction of a second before being catagorized
according to the rules I made. However, I see some emails flash and
disappear into the 'Inbox' that are not in any catagory. So Vista Email is
not receiving all of my email. Where do they go? The program is functioning
by the mail rules that i've created but is taking liberties with mail that i
need to receive, such as verifications of purchases, etc. that have no
catagory and would supposedly go to the 'Inbox'.
(Also, why do we have to ask questions of one another instead of from Tech
Help?)

Hi Gablink,

It sounds like you may have some other kind of email filter that may
running or like Julian stated, it may be your Junk Filter. Check your
Junk filter settings and make sure your antivirus program has all of
it's email scanning options turned off. This is a redundant feature that
can corrupt Windows Mail and may be filtering out some of your messages.
Plus, you will still be protected by your antivirus's real-time resident
monitoring protection. Norton and McAfee seem to be the worst offenders
with Windows Mail problems even with email scanning off, while Avast or
AVG has not had any problems reported so far.

Avast - 'http://avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html'

AVG - 'http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff'

On your last question:

I would agree with Julian. It is a lot cheaper (free) than using tech
support and their rates. Plus, here you have people with real world
experience rather than a standard troubleshooting guide.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Have you looked in junk?

You don't, however this group may be quicker and certainly cheaper.
Also, I estimate that, at least 90% of the problems reported here are
nothing to do with M$ but tend to be user errors, ie. incorrect set-up
options, and cynical PC manufacturers and ISP's who promote software
from the highest bidders.
