Hope I'm in the right place to ask this.

Bought a new PC this morning with Vista Home Premium installed. I've
installed the old XP hard drive in an external caddy so I can transfer over
files..etc..

I've been trying to import my e mail. I know the storage file on the old XP
folder, and I've copied it across into the documents folder on the vista
HDD, but when I use the 'import' featue in Windows mail, when I navigate to
that folder, it just sat the are no files there- yet I can see them! I've
made sure they aren't 'read only' too.

Am I missing a trick here or something?? Any help GRATELLY received!!

Cheers

Did you include folders.dbx?

be careful when selecting the folder that the .dbx files are in... the
import routine puts an extra folder name in the path...

Thanks Dave, that seems to have solved it.

Cheers

How do you delete the extra folder name? The path does not seem to be
editable once selected. Creat the new duplicate sub-directory and then point
to the one above?

(NOTE: Vista can put the wrong path in here sometimes, so instead of
c:\mypath it puts c:\mypath\mypath, so check the path to verify that it is
correct, and if it is not correct then fix it by clicking the Browse button
a second time and then leave the selection blank and clicking Okay.).
