Post subject: sending files with Messenger
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>messenger (more info?)

If I attempt to send files to a friend who also uses windows xp , he accepts
them but I get an error message saying that the message was blocked by a
firewall how does one configure a firewall to accept messages

5) If you're using a modem right mouse click on the icon
below connection manager
5) If you're using DSL/Broadband right mouse click on the
icon below lan or high-speed internet.
6) Left mouse click on properties
7) Left mouse click on advanced tab
Cool Left mouse click on box under internet connection
firewall to remove check mark.
9) Send your file!
10) Repeat steps 1 thru 8 to set back up your firewall
when done sending file!
