I keep getting this error message "Windows encountered an unknown error"
error 646 when i try downloading 3 updates. can anyone help me out

If not, then please repost in the update group. Microsoft personnel
are there to help solve update problems.

This error(646) is indicative of the following
You are getting this error when trying to install Office Updates.

To resolve this issue

Stick your Office CD into your computer when trying to install those Updates . Let
us know
