Hello

If I delete a user account, will all their documents, pictures etc be
deleted as well, or must I remove them manually ?

Thanks

You will normally be asked if you want to keep or delete files when a user
account is deleted through the Control Panel.

Thanks for the help,

Is the deletion 'secure', ie could the files be recovered by someone with
admin access.

( I am giving away an old PC to a niece, and need to be sure my private user
files are unreadable)

Thanks again

KK

Download a free disk scrubber and use it to overwrite the empty parts of
the drive - do it after you delete the account and empty the recycle bin.

Nope, no file deletion in Windows is "secure". If you want the files gone
beyond casual recovery either use a file/disk wipe program or destroy the
hard drive.
