Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support, others (more info?)

Just yesterday a school called for help, some of their computers (P4
machines) have trojans

All the computers came with XP installed, however, after checking,
some of the HDs are not in good condition

If I were to change the HDs, I will have to re-install XP, so... I
need to know if build 5512 the very last build of XP SP3 ?

Or is there a newer build?

The school doesn't have a really good broadband connection to the Net,
btw

Build 5512 appears to be the latest offering, based on the ISO version. See this

If the school is running Active Directory you can setup WSUS to handle
updates automatically. That is, if they have somebody to manage it.

Service Pack 3 is supposedly the final XP service pack. Windows update has
since put out many more XP updates beyond what is included in SP3.
