My .net vers. 5.0 windows messenger refuses to auto log-
in and does no longer provide me with Hotmail new email
alerts. I've spent most of the day trying to reestablish
the Windows Messenger functionality, but to no avail.
Help would be appreciated...
I've got it to start with Windows and I tell it to
remember my password. Yet, whenever I restart my PC, the
windows messenger is not connected and I have to manually
click on "log on". In the "old" days (before I installed
AOL messenger and installed and then uninstalled MSN
Messenger) I could not close the Windows
messenger, 'cause it was telling me that other
applications are using the services. That seems to no
longer be the case, -I can open and close it at will.
I've tried to reinstall .net messenger vers. 5.0, but
that did not change anything. I did not/could not
uninstall it before reinstalling.
.. How do I reestablish the auto-log-on and the Hotmail
notification???

They've taken the Hotmail things out of Windows Messenger 5, the latest
Windows Messenger that supports it is 4.7 which is at
