Post subject: access to program files folder

hi,
i am unable to access the 'program files' folder located on a windows
xp machine via the lan. When on th Win Xp machine, if i try right-
clicking on the 'program files' folder, and attempt to give shared
access, i am unable to make this change because the option to tick has
been disabled. Is there any security policies or registry entries
which i can modify on the Win Xp machine so as to enable this option?

When you boot to Safe Mode (F-8 on restart) you get the option to log on as
the default "Administrator" account. Rightclicking the Program Files folder
will then show a sharing tab in Properties.
