Post subject: XP home driver loading sequence
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

I have a laptop proloaded with XP home that failed to boot, at safe mode I
can see that it stopped after loading the following drivers (I am only
listing the last four)
ntfs.sys ndis.sys snapman.sys atisgkaf.sys
The system stops after displaying atisgkaf.sys

Any one can tell me what is the problem?

Is there a way to know the loading sequence and perhaps some of the driver
is corrupted and by replacing those drivers, will it work.

A repair install is not possible because I only have a factory CD that
resets everything to the exfactory mode, meaning I have to reinstall every
from zero up.

Actually I tried that an it seems to run fine indicating the hardware seems
to be fine. (alhough it was not an exhausive test, but since it can boot up
and display the windows working environment, I assume hardware has bee
checked)

I also tried the install using the 6 diskette download but the repair
install ask for the real XP home SP2 CD and my factory supplied CD does not
work.
