Hello,
Does anyone know if Windows defender will run with Windows XP 64?
Also, any suggestions on which Internet Security software is compatable with
and works best with Windows XP 64?
I recently tried to update my Norton Internet Security 2006 to use with my
new XP64 bit system and was told it is not compatable and neither is Norton
2007. I would like to use a Symantec virus protection product.
I was directed to the Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 10.2 by the
Symantec people any idea if this works?

Even if an application is 32bit it should run fine on a 64bit system. Check
with the manufacturer's support web site.

Thank you Mark...
I did speak with Symantec support and they told me Norton 2007 isn't
compatible and niether is 2006. I tried to download the Norton 2007 and 2006
versions from links which I obtained from Symanted support and niether would
load as they gave an error requiring a 32 bit system.

In reading the sytem specifications for Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition
10.2 I found that it is compatible with xp64.

My 64-bit PC came pre-loaded w/ a 90 day Norton, not sure why it is
giving you problems.

It might have 64 bit hardware but is a 64 bit version of Windows XP
installed?
