I am looking for a way to configure Windows Live Messenger from the registry.
Is this possible?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I don't own "Windows Live Messenger" yet, but I can tell you that the
conventional way to edit the registry settings for Windows Messenger was to
edit the INF file. The one I have is %SystemRoot%/INF/msmsgs.inf (Live
probably uses the same one.)

This in fact is the file that would configure most of the Messenger settings;
but I do not see any where in the file there is place to edit the " Message
History " setting. Maybe you cannot edit this setting outside of the actual
application, maybe it is somewhere else.

Do you know where I could edit this setting?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Using some utility like 'RegMon' you might trace the registry setting change
by watching while you change the "Message history" setting in the Options of
the app. It would undoubtedly be a complex relationship.

Regmon:
