Depends on what the error message ModName is. It may be due to malware BHOs. BHO [ Browser Helper Objects ] load with both iexplore and explorer instances. You may try disabling the malware BHO using ToolbarCop, to start with. If disabling a BHO solves the problem, delete the BHO and run Ad-Aware scan. And, reinstalling Internet Explorer does not remove the malware BHOs. Their entries will be still present in the Registry.

Download Ad-Aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system and eliminate the malware products. Re-apply the above fix if necessary. ** Remember to update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **
