Hello

I use xp home edition with sp2.

Lately on numerous occasions when I update the clock at the bottom right of
the task bar using either time.windows.com or time.nist.gov websites I get
the following error messages " An error occurred while Windows was
synchronizing with time.windows.com or An error occurred while Windows was
synchronizing with time nist.gov ".

Any solutions would be welcome. Thank you.

I would use the 'sites' button to add the two secure sites to my trusted zone.

IE, tools menu, options, security tab, highlight trusted zone icon.

If your time service is started (run services.msc):
In Windows Server 2003 and in Windows XP, W32Time frequently logs Event ID
50, and poor time synchronization occurs :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830092/en-us

If you prefer to not play with hotfixes or updates, you might try running :

SFC /SCANNOW

or do a Repair setup of XP.

How do you do this? When I enter time.nist.gov (like the time updater
says), it says I must enter a full URL with a HTTPS:// in front of
it. Well I'm not exactly sure what the full path is (i.e. the stuff
in front of the time.nist.gov) since the time updater doesn't tell
me. Is it https://www.time.nist.gov? Or https://nist.time.gov? Or
something else?

Easiest thing to do is open date and time properties..internet time tab
and type time-a.nist.gov in the server box.

I was having problems with the clock when using Windows xp. By typing
in time-a.nist.gov - all my problems seem to be solved. Thank you for
