Hi, laptop is new. Set up my email account, I am able to receive messages,
however unable to send. Contacted comcast, for assistance, they are unable
to help me. This is my error message.
"The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider." |

Hi Brenda,
Here is Comcast's setup page for Windows Mail (WM). Well, it is for
OE, but WM is the same.
'How do I set up/configure Outlook Express for email?'
In Windows Mail click:
1. Tools
2. Accounts
3. Select your email account and click Properties
4. Double check your SMTP settings in the Servers tab from the link
above.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
