You can download a Network monitoring tool, TCP View from
Microsoft SysInternals. It will show you all connections active &
data information like protocol and port usage.

It's normal when you're not actively using a network application
for data transmission to occur in the background. Only if the data
is Malware based do you need to be concerned.
