Hi Microsoft,

Since paying for and down loading an updates version of your software.
I cannot open Excel spreadsheets saved on my computer and my computer
will not update. It keeps coming up with cannot locate file SKU011.CAB

Could you please assist. This has been very annoying as I had an
original Windows program on my computer when I bought it new with the
bar code still on the base of the computer buit it would not validate so
I bought a new copy over the net as I use this computer for work reasons
and cannot be stuffed about! Now I cannot open my excel spreadsheets as
I previously stated and the program won't download from the internet.
Please assist asap.

OSTWALD - sadly this is not Microsoft but a public newsgroup - however, you
may find the answer to your problem here >>>>>>>>

Peer-to-peer newsgroup. We don't work for/represent Microsoft. We are you
with different experiences. ("your software" <-- I didn't sell you anything
and it is unlikely anyone here did or anyone they represent.)

What "updates version of [microsoft's] software" did you pay for/download?
Have you contacted the technical support for said purchase/download - on the
web page where you did all this?

What web page was it?

Still don't have any clue what you are talking about. Try to give actual
product names and versions - not "program" and "application" but "Windows XP
Professional w/SP3" or "Microsoft Office 2007 Student version" or something
along those lines.

Also - give *exact* error messages - not your interpretatikon of them.
Word-for-word, letter-for-letter.

The code on the base of your PC is for Windows, as supplied when you
purchased the PC

The rest of your post makes no sense whatsoever

You cannot install Office from the internet unless you are downloading a
trial or you purchased from MS on line

Excel is part of the Microsoft Office "pack" which was never delivered
with any Windows updates. It seem that your PC is trying start the
Office "install" process in order to install / fix the Excel
"application." You need to locate and insert in the CD / DVD drive
your original Office / Excel install CD.
