Even after adjusting crossfading, the last 10-15 seconds of every song is
"Choppy" as the next track is queing up to play.

I have the same issue. Only occurs in Windows Media Center on my Vista
equiped LapTop. I can take the same file and play it with no problem on
another machine or even sync to a MP3 player and have no issue. Very
frustrating.

Go to Vista's Help and Support option on the Start menu and search for
"Skipping" - it's in the current Help. =)

After some troubleshooting, the issue appears to be a problem with the
laptop's audio driver and Vista. Others with similar laptops are having the
same issue.

Yes, this is why the solution for that is now detailed in the Help and
Support section now. Have you fixed yourself up yet? It should be pretty
easy once you have the reference I gave below. Or the solution that gets
listed online ten or more times a day. But the "Help" idea hopefully is the
easiest path to solution. =)

Control Panel (Classic view > Sound

On the Playback tab, click Speakers, and then click Properties.

Click the Enhancements tab, and then check the Disable all enhancements check
box.

If you don't see an Enhancements tab in the Speakers Properties dialog box,
those features are not available for your speakers and this procedure is not
applicable to your computer.

If disabling audio enhancements solves the audio problem you're experiencing,
this typically indicates that your audio driver needs to be updated.

Zach,

On the Sigma Tel enhancements tab, you have to CHECK the "Disable All
Enhancements" box for this fix to work. (Not UNcheck the box as indicated in
Help and Support.)
