Post subject: Security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 (KB936181)
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

I have downloaded and installed the subject update several times. I have
restarted my computerafterwards, but the update still continues to display as
needing to be downloaded and installed. My system states that it has
downloaded and installed hte update, but it remains as an update to download
and install.

Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

"Description of the security update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0:
August 14, 2007" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936181/en-us

Download and install that update from this site:
"Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service
Pack 2 (KB936181)"
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyI...21e12f5

If this doesn't help, repost your problem to this group:
