Post subject: Screen resolution
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>general (more info?)

I have just installed windows vista and cannot set the resolution for my 19"
wide screen to 1440 x 900. I have a Logik LCD TV that I am using but it looks
awful at the moment as i have had to set the resolution to 1028 x 768 just to
see everything.

Please help as i have run out of ideas!

Have you installed the latest graphics drivers?
For NVIDIA cards, go to this site:
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
For ATI cards, go to this site:
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Also, what type of cable did you use to connect your television?
Over an S-Video or composite cable these higher resolutions are impossible.
You'll need a VGA, DVI, HDMA or component cable to do that.
