I connect to the main office, from a remote office, using Cisco VPN Client.
After connecting through the VPN, I use Remote Desktop to connect to a PC in
the office. After logging into the rmote PC, my local PC locks up and I have
to reset with the power button to reboot it. Sometimes it locks up
immediately after entering the password and sometimes it works fine for 5 or
10 minutes before locking up, but it always locks up and has to be power
reset. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it. Both the
local and remote PCs are running XP Pro, SP3.

Does this work if you connect over the local network at the office?

I would start with making sure the video drivers on each machine are the
latest.

Yes, I can connect to this PC from within the local network. I heave read
some other posts which indicate that video drivers were a problem sometimes
so I downloaded and installed a video driver update late yesterday. I will be
going over to the remote office later this morning and I will try it again.
