Windows Server 2008 RC0 is still in Beta and Nero as most other
software make no claims to work on Beta.
As for Windows XP 64 bit, have you seen the notes that explain what
does not work:
http://www.nero.com/enu/support-nero8-system-requirements.html
What has Nero said when you asked them?

Nero 8 has worked fine on Vista HP, Bus and ultimate editions x64 as
well as x86 since the first release leaked in september. Now at 8.1.1.0b
it works on my worstations and laptops. I have it installed on over 20
different machines no problem and working great.
Diagnosis...operator error.

P.S. All Of Nero's 8.0 Support FAQ's Have No Effect On My Situation As Well,
Because The Nero 8.0 Install Has Failed Each And Every Time Even On
Computer's That Had Just Recently Been Clean Installed With Microsoft
Windows Server 2008 Release Candidate 0 (That Had No Prior History Of A Nero
Installation On That Computer), Just FYI.

Well, possibly.
But your reference to Server 2008 Beta is irrelevant since it is a
Beta.
Others report success with Windows Vista so we already know it can
work.
Did Windows Vista ever have any form of Nero installed?
Is Windows Vista a Clean Installation or an upgrade.
Since the errors happen during installation, have you disabled anti
virus, spyware removers and any other malware removers?
Disable any other unnecessary programs before trying to install Nero
8.
When you contacted Nero with the exact error, what did they say?

Kev, running Nero 8.0.1b right now on Vista Ultimate x64 edition. Had issues
at first installing after I uninstalled Nero 7, but easily resolved by using
the NERO Clean up tool.

Nero StartSmart works nicely too, but the interface is very cluttered.

Most home use AV will refuse to install on a "Server" version, and
things like Diskeeper, could this be a reason? |

I Just Tried To Install On An Old Compaq Pentium 3 933 MHz With Windows XP
Media Center Edition, The Attempted Install Locked Up The Computer, I Have
No Intention Of Returning To Windows Vista RTM, And My Parent's Have No
Intention Of Returning To It Either (They Plan To Stay At Windows XP 64 Bit
Edition Service Pack 2, Until All Of The Microsoft Office 2003 Compatibility
Problems With Windows Vista RTM Are Fixed, Or Until Her Company Upgrades To
Windows Vista And Microsoft Office 2007), We Have Had Problems With Using
USB Flash Drives That Have Been Used On My Computer's, And Then Trying To Go
To The Backwards OS Compatibility Wise To Their Computer, Just FYI.
To Make Things Clear So That Every One Can Under Stand:
I Intend To Continue To Run Windows Server 2008 Release Candidate 0.
My Parent's Intend To Continue To Run Windows XP 64 Bit Edition.
We Have Problems Using USB Flash Drives (That Were Used On Any Version Of
Vista) And Then Trying to Go Backwards Compatibility Wise And Try To Use
Them In Any Version Of XP, Just FYI.
We Have Encountered Office 2003 Compatibility Problems With Vista (And I Am
100% Certain That Service Pack 3 For Office 2003 Does Not Fix All Those
Problems), Just FYI.

P.S. I Might Also Very Well Soon Return To Open Source Linux Ubuntu, Because
So Far I Am Not Satisfied With Microsoft's Response To My Request That
Windows Vista Service Pack One, And Windows XP Service Pack 3 Private Beta's
Be Released To The General Public, Make no Mistake, The Only Reason Why I
Returned To Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Release Candidate 0, Was The Fact
That I Missed Having Windows Media Player 11.0 Available So That I Could
Watch Both C-Span 2 And C-Span 3 Over The Internet From C-Span.Org. One Of
These Days, I Will Hopefully Become Better Acquainted With Linux So That I
Will Be Able To Use The Linux Version Of Real Player To Watch Those Programs
Over The Internet, Just FYI.

The very first problem I have had with VISTA was when I loaded Nero 8.
I can no longer use IE, McAfee, and Nero help itself.
What a shame and I am getting no help from Nero. I guess I will have to
contact MS real soon or start over. |

Did you have any other versions of Nero before installing Nero 8?
Try uninstalling all Nero installed and then reboot.
If you still have problems, use System Restore to Date/Time before
issue started.
Reboot the computer
Disable all unnecessary programs, including antivirus etc.
Then try installing Nero 8.
If Nero caused it, it is unlikely Microsoft anyone other than Nero
will or can help.
