Post subject: Movie Maker Freezes - problem report details
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>music_pictures_video (more info?)

I am new to Movie Maker 6.0 - now using it for about 3 weeks. During that
time I have had frequent freeze-up problems (29 times, according to the log),
and have had problems with the program not saving properly (regarding the
saving problems, I will make another post.)

It should also be noted that about 2 weeks ago I downloaded some extra
effects or transitions (AddOnTFX) from a website I don't recall, though I'm
pretty sure it was a Microsoft site. I had already been having problems with
Movie Maker by then (so that's not where the problem started), and I don't
believe the extra effects actually loaded properly. In retrospect, I believe
the download was for Movie Maker 2.0, which may be why it didn't load
properly. I haven't uninstalled it yet but I probably should.

Here are the details from the error log - I went through all 29 and these
were the four types of errors. The first one below was the most common.

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

That's a bunch of errors in third party QuickTime components. What file
type are you trying to use/edit? Does updating to the latest QuickTime
version help?
