I've tried several things to disable Windows Messenger
(4.7). I've gotten it to NOT start up when XP starts up,
or when the I go on the internet. I've also unchecked
windows messenger in Add/Remove windows components. But
when I log on Yahoo Messenger, Windows Messenger starts
up as well, using up a lot of memory. Any ideas?

You have to uncheck the (Enable instant messaging in Microsoft Outlook), u
can find it in the Tools menu then Options then in the bottom of Other
folder in Microsoft Outlook.
