to access my files it tell me it is not formatted and i formatted the
drive and all my pictures...files...mp3's videos and excel sheets
(v.imp.) were lost. The other day i went to parlor and my brother used
it for his assignments. Is there any way to get my files back????

I really don't know why you formatted your USB Drive or Pen Drive.
Though there are Data Recovery Softwares but now the possibilities are
really very low as your brother has already overwritten in the USB
drive. I don't think data recovery softwares can really help you
retrieve your formatted files and folders. The solution i have is
consulting the Data Recovery Experts who might help you solve your
problem. You can find a good Data Recovery Company searching from
Google. Consult them with details. One of the good Data Recovery
Company i have heard since 2001 is www.eprovided.com who deals with
Data Recovery in every sort of Storage Devices like: SSD or HDD. I
think this company has a better solution for your critical data loss.
They have successfully served NASA so i think they can deal with
yours. Smile

Regards.

You could try this. But there might not be much left to recover.
When someone else overwrites the device, you cannot recover
what was there previously.

Given you formatted it and then someone else wrote some files to it -
chances are extremely slim - closer to none than anything else.

Actually he may be lucky because FLASH memory is 'wear levelled'. This
means that new files are written to the least recently used block in the
FLASH chip. Provided the new files are not so large that they would have
overwritten the deleted files, there is more than a sporting chance that the
files are recoverable using standard file recovery utilities available on
the internet (some even for free). Google for something like 'file
scavenger'.
