When I updated to MS Vista (Home Premium) Icould no longer use my HP 6210
Officejet scanning feature. Per HP, I updated to a Vista version of HP
Solution Center and still it does not work. When I go to scan, the printer
gives message "you need to install or run device software". Doesanyone have
any solution? I've tried HP several times and the problem is still there.

rodnrobbin ... back at the beginning of July, there was a thread that helped
me to get my HP C4180 scanner working again ... am including it here for you
.... the file name that you are looking for should be the same as is listed
in Ray's post ... for me, the scanner app file name was the same ...
hpqscnvw.exe ... I right-clicked on it and sent a shortcut to the desktop
.... double-clicked it and, voila! I could scan again ... I had the same
experience Ray did ... I downloaded and installed the latest Vista drivers
and software but still could not scan from the HP central app ... read the
posts listed below and good luck ... vanilla

---------- from July 3rd ---------

Hallelujah! Thanks for this tip ... I was getting to the point where I was
so disappointed with Vista, I was thinking of going back to XP. Now I can
scan again ... one problem down, three to go ... thanks much ... vanilla
