Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>perform_maintain (more info?)

After I have killed a process in the Task Manager, sometimes the
process starts automatically running again after a while. Is there a
way to prevent them from running again before the next boot or reboot?

What is the process in question? There are certain processes that are
called/started by other processes.
