Post subject: DEP (Data Execution Prevention) exception list not working
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

Hello

I have a user that logs onto a workstation and he is the only one getting
DEP errors. It occurs in Internet Explorer and Explorer.

So I decided I would go into the Data Execution Prevention settings and
selected "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:"
In this exception list I have iexplorer.exe and explorer.exe

The user continues to receive DEP errors on explorer.exe

So I am wondering if there is something else I have to add to the exception
list so that explorer.exe does not crash. Or does this exception list just
not work?

TIA
