Questions like this get opinions, not answers, and you'll get different
opinions from different people. I like Avast!

I use Nod32. Very effective and works very well with Vista.

I would persoanlly avoid OneCare. Not just a matter of the rating but
the fact that it will not let you really configure it effiecently. For
example I run a serious hardware firewall for my network. The OneCare
firewall is a pain in the butt so I turn it off. However by doing this
OneCare is now screaming at me all the time my system is not secure. You
cannot just turn of the features you do not want without the system
being unhappy.

AVG, Grisoft, Nod32, Kaspersky, Trendmicro, Bitdefender

All of these support 64 Bit Vista. I really like the Kaspersky thought
I know many that also like trendmicro and Bitdefender. However with AVG
and Avast being free it is really hard to suggest anyone BUY an AV
package.

Huh? Windows OneCare has rated at the bottom of the barrel in effectiveness
in independent testing. There is no one best, but this is certainly a poor
choice.

LOL! Are you at all surprised that an MVP would recommend a MS product,
despite it's inferior efficacy??

I know everyone is giving great opinions on the best antivirus for Vista
...... I use AVG by Grisoft and I find it to work extremely we ..... i use it
on all my windows systems ... never had a problem with it ...... I have had a
bad experience with avast once and that is why i never tried it again ......
but AVG in my opinion is a very good candidate .....
