Well finally Adaptec posted their Vista drivers for the 1420SA RAID card. I
load the driver but Vista and Disk Manager do not see the array. I've tried
re-loading but still Vista will not recognize the driver. Adaptec support is
all but non-existent.

Any ideas? I had 400GB of media that I have on this array from Media Center
and I want to use it with Vista Premium. My boot drive is an Ultra ATA drive.
My motherboard has on-board SATA but I have disabled it at the bios.
Thanks!

I have an Adaptec SCSI card for which there have been posted drivers since
Vista was launched.
For months Vista would not recognize the driver no matter what I did.
Microsoft has arcance procedures for resetting permissions: a waste of time
(so is Vista but that is another rant).
One day, just for the masochistic thrill of it, I tried reinstalling the
driver. Miraculously it has worked ever since and the SCSI card and its
attached devices are recognized by Vista.
Perhaps the Microsoft Driver Fairy will spread pixie dust on your
motherboard one day if you are very good and say nothing bad about Vista.
