I have a copy of windows xp home that came with my laptop. My laptop is still
top of the line and will support vista just fine. I contacted HP about
upgrading to Vista home pro or Ultimate but was told that i do not qualify
for a free upgrade coupon because i get my laptop 1.5 years ago (summer 2005).
Now my question is, is there any way that i can get a free upgrade to
Windows Vista for my home laptop?
Does anyone know of a way to do that? Any Microsoft programs?

Convince your employer to purchase a copy for your use.

No MS programs to get a free upgrade other than what is offered through
OEM's such as HP. Most of those are for laptops purchased in the last few
months, not a year and a half ago.

I don't want to get a pirated copy of Vista... I have a big home network with
my xbox 360, 3 laptops and 2 desktop (that is what i get for having 2
roommates) and i am the one managing it all.
The bottom line i really want to fully connect my xbox 360 and my laptop...
I was gonna get Media Center but decided to wait till Vista...
I would just really hate to spend another $300 on my already expensive laptop.

No. Why would you think there is a program to get a free upgrade to Vista
for a computer you bought 1 1/2 years ago?
