| Each time I try to publish my video from windows movie maker (Windows Vista
of course), after choosing the destination folder and click "publish, the
program freezes, then closes. This happens each and every time. I tried
changing the destination folder, changing the file name, but none works. Is
there some sort of patch for this or anything? Thanks for the help.

Do you have data in the Problem Reports and Solutions center for this
crash... ?

I have check my "problem reports and solutions" folder, and for each one it
says the problem with movie maker was "Stopped working". The status for each
one was "Report sent".
I'm guessing with so many problem with WMM, Microsoft would have a patch or
update by now? And the projects I save on the vista WMM can't be opened with
the XP WMM either.

What's the specific data for those crashes? There should be a set of data
and potentially a fault bucket number--

That's an absolutely utterly unique crash at this time, so there's no data
for this.
What would be particularly unique about your system... ? What third party
software's been put on the box? Since it is so extremely unique, it's most
likely something uniquely awry with your system's configuration. =\

This is a pretty extremely extremely rare crash, and there's no data
available.
Best routes forward for more information:
* Crash a lot and submit the crashes to Microsoft. I've asked for the
generic data to be collected for this crash, so if some further crash
reports were submitted, that should put me in business here. =\
* Crash and save the DMP file to a location I can get to it (one of the file
sharing sites should work...)
That's the routes forward assuming I can debug through it and sort that out.
Also, due to the rarity of this event, it also bears investigation as
regards what's unique on your system. If third party multimedia components
were put on the system, those could be suspect there. =\

lol, as far as far as system configuration goes, you'll have to ask in detail
since i'm not that much of a technical wizard lol.
As for software and my system though...
-Acer 5050 Laptop
-Ordered and received the free Vista OS, installed.
-Downloaded some gadgets and updates for Vista
Probably not exactly what you're looking for. I don't think I've really
installed any third party software yet... at least none that anybody else
doesn't download. Movie maker worked fine on XP when I had it (except for the
occasional crash -_-). Other then that, I dont' know what else to provide.

Could you make it crash more and then submit the crash reports? I still see
this as only happening once ever ever, and thus there's no data available
for this currently. Some more crash reports on that being sent in should
potentially get me this data.
Thanks!

Great, that's great data.
Is this a clean install? What was installed to this? You've apparently got
the extremely noxious Voxware codec on your system - filename msms001.vwp
should be on your system - which will randomly corrupt memory.
One of the crash buckets appears to indicate ATIUMDVA.dll , which should
indicate that you're running old versions of the ATI drivers. You might
want to update those too.
But Voxware is horrible enough that it would be causing errors in all sorts
of situations. Please uninstall that codec (or forcibly remove it) and then
see where things are at.
I'd be very curious to know how it got there.

Hmm, I couldn't find any direct results from the files you mentioned. The
following are the ones that I came across that were somewhat similar though.
MSMSCSI.IN_
MSMSGS.CA_
MSMSGS.IN_
ATI1XWDM.IN_
(and other similar results to the one above)
I could not find any other results other then these. Cannot find the voxware
either.
I received the Vista installation package from Microsoft and installed it
according to the instructions. Where would I find the updates for the ATI
drivers by the way?
