I've got all my OS and programmes on my C: drive and all my data on D:. I've
worked out how to redirect the My Documents icon to point to my D: drive but
can't find a way to redirct Shared Documents. Can it be done?

No, it can not be done. SharedDocuments is a System Folder and therefore it
can not be Renamed or Moved to any other location.

Hope this help, let us know!

Download TweakUI

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Under My Computer -> Special Folders, you can redirect the folder to any location you want.

Surely, you mean 'It can not _easily_ be done?"
You'll have to edit registry here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Common Documents
and here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Common
Documents
And also you'll have to reboot for that to take effect.

Have you tried it? Because I search the registry and didn't find any String
Value for the same.

Ok! Let me know that what could be the default value of those "Common
Documents". I think, it should be none because as I already said that
SharedDocuments is a System Folder and therefore there will be no default
location for this folder and that is why you can not change the location.

Let me know you views.

The default value for
HKLM\...\Shell Folders\Common Documents
is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents
while for
HKLM\...\User Shell Folders\Common Documents
it is %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Documents

Note, that common music, videos and pictures all have their own
registry settings.
