When i play games on my Pc and error message is generated by ATI saying that
the graphics card is no longer responding to comands, then the screen goes
black with a small box saying "NO SIGNAL" - this is extremely annoying Sad if
anyon could help i would be forever thankfull. I have all the most recent
drivers and i have cleaned out the fans on the pc so overheating would not be
a problem. And the moniter is securely plugged in and all the pins are intact!

Many thanks, Cal

Hi Teasel,

The problem that you've described suggests that:

1. You have a hardware defect, probably with the ATI card, or
2. You do not have a sufficient power supply to supply the juice your ATI
needs.

Google for a free application that will monitor your video card's voltage,
and if
it is continuously fluctuating as I supect it is, you will need to replace
your power
supply with a larger model. Google for a Power Supply Voltage Calculator in
order to add up the total requirements of all the peripherals in your system.

No signal means exactly that: the monitor does not get a signal from the
video card. Seeing that you are 'securely plugged in' the problem seems
to be the video card. Does this only happens with games, if so which
ones? And what are the specs of your card?
