Cant do a system restore. When try to run Mcafee, it runs very very slow.
Tried running sys restore in safe mode but wont restore either. Macafee wont
run in safe mode. Ran Windows Defender, didnt find anything, said computer
was running fine. It's not. Is this a registry problem or am I infected?
Tried deleting temp internet files and folders, cleared trash bin, Typed in
%TEMP% in COMMAND prompt deleted those files too. I have REGISTRYFIX software
and wonder if it is the problem. Cleared modem and router cache memory as
well. Tried restoring previous REGISTRYFIX modifications, but no go. Dont
know what to do. Almost all programs freeze now or run very slow. I have a
super fast computer as well. Win XP, 4 gigram, Intel dou Core II.

Don't use a registry cleaner. They can cause more problems than they fix.

I'm not saying your system is infected but here are some links for dealing
with malware. Make sure the system is clean.

At best, registry fixers make no difference to the performance of
a PC. At worst, they cause fatal damage. People who use them
get a warm feeling inside for having "cleaned up" a congested
registry but they rarely pull out a stop watch to put some substance
to their feeling.

Have a look at the Task Manager. What is the CPU loading? Is
there a particular task that hogs the CPU resources? What is it?
Can you kill it?

I don't know Registryfix in particular, but I wouldn't be at all surprised
if that's the problem. I always recommend *against* the routine use of
registry cleaners. Routine cleaning of the registry isn't needed and is
dangerous. Leave the registry alone and don't use a registry cleaner.
Despite what many people think, and what vendors of registry cleaning
software try to convince you of, having unused registry entries doesn't
really hurt you.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneously
removing an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefit it may
have.
