Quick launch, slow to display icons

I've noticed within the past 2 months that when I click on the quick launch
arrows that it can take up to a minute for the programs to display on my
screen. If I have any other programs running it will lock up my computer
until they all the icons show up. I don't have more than 35 in the list. I've
tried to see if there are any fixes for this but can't find anything.

Does anyone know what I can do to get this fixed?

Try removing all the icons then putting them one/by/one to see if a specific icon is
taking time...
