Quick Launch hidden etc...

Ok so basically i was trying to get to the *"C:\Documents and
settings\<user name>\Local settings\Temp"* folder but to do that i had
to check then uncheck "hidden" on the *<user name>* folder which of
course made -several- folders visible. This seems to have been a stupid
thing to do because now (for some reason) the quick launch isn't there
even though i have it turned on ...and other stuff changed/became
visible... "ZbThumbnail.info" showed up on the desktop.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea how to return the *"C:\Documents and
settings\<user name>"* folder, sub folders and contents back to their
original state??
