Using Win XP Home, on Dell computer, when signing into IE6 or MSN premium,
neither will start as long as MacAfee, or Norton anti-virus is running, also
intermittent with firefox. I take out the anti-virus software and it starts
ok. Any ideas.

Take out McAfee or Norton and install the free AVG Anti-virus. Save yourself
a lot of headaches. http://free.grisoft.com

Yes. Dump both Norton and McAfee, the two *worst* anti-virus programs
available. There are several better choices, many of them freeware, such as
Avast!, my personal choice.
