If I'm working on my laptop and create a subfolder on a network share that
is set to replicate to my laptop, the new subfolder is automatically set to
"make available offline."
However, if I'm working on the main system and add the same subfolder, when
I replicate with my laptop, it ignores the new folder, even though it's
parent folder is set to make all files and subfolders available offline.
This is awful - I have hundreds of folders replicated on my laptop, most of
them several folders deep. If I add one somewhere (or another user does), I
have no way of knowing where it is. The only way I even find out that it's
missing is when I go to access a file and realize I'm missing the whole
folder.
Right now, the only fix I know of is to uncheck "Make available offline" for
a given folder, then recheck it, selecting the option to capture all files
and subfolders. That gets everything... until the next time someone adds a
new folder. Also, this really defeats the purpose of the automatic
replication every time I log on or off the network.
Is there a way to change this behavior, such that when I add a new subfolder
(in a replicated folder), my laptop will automatically replicate it? The
current system is terrible, at least for the way I need to use it.
Thanks much for any suggestions,
Colin
